This month, the galleries and merchants got together to put some spunk back into the Art Walk.

We finally made it out to Tolay Park yesterday. Last Thursday, Old Adobe School District Superintendent, Diane ZImmerman, hosted  a “Toast for Change” at the Mystic Theater introducing the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) that are now being deployed in her school district.  It was an amazing evening with many of the gallery owners, educators and community members engaged in this method of teaching critical thinking using art. In addition to the art walk tomorrow evening downtown from 5-8pm, there are some very fun happenings at the Petaluma Arts Center this weekend. The play “Real Women Have Curves” is being presented at the Arts Center with an Open Dress Rehearsal this evening and the actual performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm.

I want to wish a hardy congratulations to the Petaluma Arts Center for their first year in business! They held their anniversary party a couple weeks ago.
