A Feast of Color: Eastern Indian Textiles at the Petaluma Arts Center

by admin

This exhibit, A Feast of Color, lives up to the title. I highly recommend that fabric & needle artists, in particular, make time to see this show. I was really taken by the extensive documentation of each piece along with pictures and instructions down to the stitch level. I enjoyed learning about the various shapes and represenations that each embroidery segement held.

In addition to the textile & embroidery art which is for display only, there is a separate exhibit in the Community Room of the Arts Center where they have paintings done by women in India that are for viewing and for sale.

The Petaluma Arts Center is open Thursday through Monday from noon – 4pm. Plan a day to visit!
