A community arts center in Petaluma!! This is Soooooo exciting. I went to the “hard hat tour” of the new facility in the almost finished shell at Lakeville & D this morning. It was a fantastic crowd who braved the rain to see what promises to be an incredible asset for our community.

Murray Rockowitz, president of PAC and local photographer, called the meeting to order by introducing Mary Dooley, the architect who has been working on the project for nearing 2 years. Mary described the 3 primary spaces of the building to include the public meeting and reception room, the main gallery space and the educational space. Though the tenant improvements still need to be completed, it’s easy to imagine how very cool this new center will be. Much work was put into the planning to ensure the build out aligned with the 3 primary missions of the PAC:
1. Community based programs
2. Exhibition presentation
3. Art education.
