ARTS COUNCIL OF SONOMA COUNTY 2008 GRAND OPENING
Sonoma County, CA – The Arts Council of Sonoma County celebrates its new
2008 location at 404 Mendocino Avenue, Suite C in downtown Santa Rosa
with a grand opening to coincide with the Members Exhibit reception.
With more than 180 featured artists in 2006, the Members Exhibit is a
popular non-juried show that not only aims to honor the Arts Council
artist membership, but also showcases the talent of local artists. The
exhibit will feature a diverse breadth of media including painting,
drawing, mixed media, photography, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture,
textiles and more.
The new Arts Council Gallery features a unique triangular layout with an
additional sub-gallery, expanding and diversifying the use of space for
future exhibits. With raised ceilings and exposed steel and brick
framework, the Arts Council Gallery provides a contemporary environment
in which to highlight established, emerging and under-recognized Sonoma
County artists. The gallery serves local artists by providing exposure
and support through the inclusion of seven 2008 exhibits, and serves a
broad range of corporate and individual patrons through its sales
operations. The Arts Council’s new location situated within the downtown
Santa Rosa footprint aims to further stimulate public dialogue on issues
of art and culture.
