A team of dedicated artists from the Petaluma Arts Association (PAA) met at Pelican Art Gallery & Custom Framing today, Saturday, August 18th, to mount and frame 33 pieces of very special art created by young Petaluma artists. The artwork, submitted by artists ages 13 to 18 years old, is part of the Sesquicentennial (150th) celebration for Petaluma next year. Under the leadership of Vangie Pullins, PAA President, the contest was organized & juried so that the artwork would travel around Petaluma throughout 2008.

The first exhibition of these treasures, depicting the Sesquicentennial theme “Petaluma: Past, Present, Future”, will be at the 50th anniversary of PAA’s Art in the Park, September 8th & 9th in Walnut Park. So mark your calendars and get to Walnut park to enjoy the art!
