July 2nd Friday Art Walk

Starstruck Poster, PDA 2nd Friday Art Walk July 2009
I wanted to take some time this week to introduce the players in this week’s Art Walk downtown. Many of you have participated in the past and know how fun it is when the galleries roll out their best hospitality.
Starstruck Boutique
Starstruck Boutique has been one of the most energetic participants in the Petaluma Downtown Association Art Walks since the start a couple years ago. Owner Melanie Dado-Stammler has consistently presented interesting emerging artists, backed by a fantastic reception with great food and happening music. I have been impressed with Melanie’s marketing savvy and her consistent message. Starstruck is always a fun stop on the art walk. Starstruck is featuring “La Femme de Fantaisie” , Mixed Media Illustrations by recent art student graduate, Leilani Joy.
Petaluma Arts Center
New comer to the Art Walk is the Petaluma Arts Center. It’s great to see the newest gallery in town taking part in the Art Walk. We look or great things as the Art Walk grows with the energy of the expansion of the art scene in Petaluma. Currently, in the G.K.Hardt Gallery at the Arts Center is the artwork of Robert McChesney and Mary Fuller McChesney.
The Tea Room Cafe
Also new on the Art Walk is the Tea Room Cafe on Western. The new owner, K.T. Crum has hosted several artists. The featured artist for this month’s art walk is Ray Swaney. Ray’s graphite art is they type that holds your interest with the twists & turns of his figures. This should be a great new stop on the walk with fames San Francisco keyboardist James Mitchell providing the music at this stop.

Dear Linda,
You need to have your blog reviewed by a proof reader. Too many mistakes for such a short piece. Consider the following:
1. how fun it is … should be … how much fun it is.
2. backed by a fantastic reception … backed by fantastic receptions
3. We look or great things … We look for great things
4. Currently, in the G.K.Hardt Gallery … this is a non-sequitor
5. for this month’s art walk — for this month’s Art Walk
6. art is they type … art is the type
7. fames San Francisco keyboardist … famous
May the Art Walk be a great success.
